Major Scientific Contributions

• Developed and oppularized High Fecundity Sheep genotype with litter size of 140 percent lambs against 85 to 90 percent in already existing genotypes of Kashmir Sheep.
• Chiru (world finest animal fiber) protected under schedule I of Wild Life Act, status report in high altitudes of Ladakh
• Co-investigator in "Noorie" first pashmina goat clone
• Popularization of pashmina in non-traditional belt of Ladakh
• Developed concept of confirmed growth of pashmina throughout the yeaer with shedding during summers in pashmina goats and disprove the earlier concept of seasonal growth of pashmina
• Characterized, documented and developed breed descriptor of cold arid high altitude indigenous sheep and goat as well as high altitude indigenous poultry breed of kashmir viz., Changra (Pashmina goat), Changluk (Changthangi), Gurez (Sheep), Karnah (Sheep), Kashmir Faverallo (poultry).
• Developed PCR based test for identfication of falsification of Kashmiri Wazwan products with the objective too detect falsification of sheep and goat products by Buffalo or cattle meat.
